9-6大脑就像肌肉,善于使用大脑,大脑就不会退化.如何使用大脑,使它变成我们的得力助手,帮助人们变得更幸福.大脑神经元间有数百万计的通道.有些很薄,也比较新.有些更厚,更成熟.与大自然的规律相似.有广阔的河流,绵长的隧道.也有涓涓细流,狭促的沟渠.The brain is like muscle: use it and you dont lose it.How do we use it so that it becomes an assistant, help toward becoming happier. There are millions of channels inside the brain, neural pathways in brain. Some are thin and new. Some are thicker. The way it works is like in nature. You have large rivers, large channels. And tiny rivers and tiny channels.每次思考,都会在神经元之间建立一条通道.就像河流,有河水流过,就会拓宽.水流枯竭的时候,神经通路就停止活动.通道就会稍有缩回.神经通路使用的时候会增长,不用的时候会萎缩.Every time when you are thinking, a connection is made between neural pathways. Just like a river- every time the water passes there, it gets this wider. When there is no water there, there is no work being done in the neural, it shrinks a little bit.Neural pathways grow with use and they shrink when there is no use.对于新接触的事物,一开始神经通路很窄.比如学法语,学了一个新词,新的链接就产生了.如果只听到一次,链接就会消失.不断听,神经通路就会变粗,永远不会忘记了.如何改变幸福?神经通路像是河流.当大雨倾盆,雨水会朝建好的通道流淌.经验朝建好的神经通道深化,并加强.某件事被反复加强,就成为习惯。If its something new, a new neural pathway that was just created its very thin. For example, I study French. And I learn a new word. A new connection is made in my brain. If I hear the word once and never again, it will disappear. If I continue hearing that word, it will become thicker. Ill remember it for the rest of my life. How we can change our wellbeing. The neural pathways just like rivers. When it rains, the water gravitates[gr?v?te?t] 趋向,被吸引 toward the channels that we have built. The experience is gravitate to already created neural pathways and strengthen it.
