In this paper, the homoge- neous elastic half space, inw hich a few three-dmi ensional fault sitesw ith different lengths and depths are chosen, is analyzed. Every fau lt site is subjected to a vertical upw ard pulse w ave. The three dmi ensional explicit finite ele- ment schemesw ith mult-i transm itting boundary cond ition are employed and the correspond ing three-dmi ensional ex- plicit finite element program DSI3 is developed in the present analysis.
