Asking for information has become one of the favorite topics of our daily conversations. As an aircraft maintenance mechanic, before the working procedure, we would usually ask some basic information about the flight, such as the arrival time of the fight, the flight number, the destination city of the flight, the parking position of the flight and the period of time for the transient and so on. It is necessary for an aircraft maintenance mechanic to make correct and proper questions about the flight information. Here are some examples for you. It’s very common for the employees in the maintenance office to give phone calls to their cooperative companies in the foreign countries to inquire about the repair capability, the status of the delivery of the repaired parts and so on. So it’s very useful for us to have such skills. Speaking Practice Prepare dialogues on the following situation: 1. You are now in a booking office. You ask the agent for some information about flights for Los Angeles. You want to leave on Thursday, but you are told that there is no flight for Los Angeles on Thursday, and so the agent suggests that you leave on Friday.
