Lead-in. 1. Match idioms and their meanings. 2. Appreciate and tell pictures of eight different countries. 1. Guide ss to guess and match idioms and their meanings. Thus introduce the topic “Culture Shock” 2. Show pictures of eight different countries. 1. Help ss get the awareness of culture shock by 1)guessing the meanings of “a white elephant, full of beans, under the weather, like a dog with two tails, the salt of the earth”. 2) by telling eight different countries according to pictures. 5 第二环节  了解Brad Li在美国的经历 Step 2 Read to get the main idea by skimming scanning and task-reading. Step 3. Read after the CD 2.①Read the passage and get the main idea. ②Read the passage paragraph by paragraph and know about Brad Li’s experiences in America.
