In the new century, Hangzhou municipal government has taken a lot of measures to effectively protect and reasonably utilize these heritage resources. Starting from analyzing the city character of Hangzhou, this paper is to elaborate the main ideas, principles and methods of architectural heritage conservation in Hangzhou, and also to introduce some practical cases of historical building conservation in Hangzhou in recent years.
