Signed Dated  Abstract Owing to the cultural differences between Chinese and English, words are embedded with different national feeling; which would result in misunderstanding even wrong translation in the course of communication. In order to understand their cultural connotation,this article makes a comparison of the basic color words between English and Chinese from the view of culture. Meanwhile, it makes an attempt to probe into the fundamental translating methods of them, for the purpose of improving the ability of communication and avoiding cultural conflicts.
