第三讲 代 词 一、分类 代词可分为人称代词( I, them, you ) , 形容词性物主代词(my, your ) , 名词性物主代词 (mine, hers) , 不定代词( anything , some) , 指示代词( this , that ) , 疑问代词( who, whatever ) , 反身代词(myself, itself) , 相互代词( each other )和关系代词( as, who, which)等。 二、功能 1 . 人称代词 1)当一个句子中有两个或两个以上人称代词时, 语法功能相同的代词形式应该一致 Jim and I saw the man passing by . (同为主格) Between you and me, he got a lot of money from somewhere . (同为宾格)私下跟你说吧 (别告诉他人) , 不知他从哪里弄到一大笔钱呢。 2)人称代词可以指代动物 The dog waved his tail when he saw his master . You may take a horse to the water , but you can..t make him drink . She ( the cat ) has adapted herself to a life on the island . 3)人称代词可以拟人(地球、月亮、党派、国家、车辆等) , 以表示喜爱或亲昵等 We thank the earth for her bounty . 我们感谢大地的慷慨。 The moon shines her rays on all . 万物都沉浸在融融的月色里。 Death lays his icy hand on kings . 在死亡面前, 帝王亦如平民。 4)人称代词有时可以用作名词 在某些情况下, 人称代词可用形容词或限定词作定语, 可有-s 复数形式, 这种特征的人称 代词称作名词化的人称代词。人称代词I 作名词可表示“自我, 极端自私的人”等义; he 和she 表示男性和女性或动物的雄性和雌性。we 和you 有时亦可作名词用。 Is the new baby a he or she ?
