There is close relation between language and culture. So the understanding of a culture requires the understanding of the corresponding language and vice versa. Color terms are an important part of human language. Due to different cultural and historical backgrounds as well as different customs of each nation the color words in Chinese and English language have different meaning and usage, which presents the cultural differences on the basis of language.
