II. Understanding the text
1. Analyze the structure of the passage.
The passage is a first-person narrative in the form of a diary about the experiences of being a trashman. It is made up of 4 parts.
Part I (para.1—para.3), is the introduction. It tells about who they are, what kind of work they do and what they have thought about the greetings they would receive.
Part II (para.4—para.11), is about what the author and Steve have experienced during the exchanges with
