This paper analyzed theprincipal of cloning technique, and propo sed a cloning algorithm, which is applied to the edge detection of color mi ages. W e propo sed a new m ethod of the edge extraction of color mi agesby integrating the clo ning algorithm and the edge connection algorithm. Finally expermi ental results are com pared w ith the resultsof the edge detection of Canny s Operator, and dem onstrate a better edge continuity and less overdetection po ints of our algorithm.
