Book Review on Pride and Prejudice Recently, I have read this book again, called Pride and Prejudice. It was written by Jane Austen, a famous British female writer. The content of the novel is as following. The Bennets was a middle class in Netherfield. They had five daughters but no sons. Mrs. Bennet was eager to let her daughters married with rich men because she and her daughters were no inheritance after Mr. Bennet’s death. Jane, the eldest daughter in Bennets, was a pretty girl but she was not good at expressing her own feelings to others, even to her sisters. Mr. Bingley, a rich young man, was a new neighbor in Netherfield. He and Jane fell in love with each other when they met at the first sight in the ball. However, Mr. Bingley has ever given up the relationship with Jane because of Jane’s social position and fortune, and most importantly, her unknown feeling for him. In addition, Mr. Darcy, his good friend of Mr. Bingley, persuaded Mr. Bingley that he shouldn’t propose to Jane. Fortunately, Mr. Bingley proposed to Jane because of his strong affection to Jane. Elizabeth, the second eldest daughter in Bennets, was a cheerful, cute, smart and sociable girl. She was loved at first sight by Mr. Darcy, who was a rich, young and handsome gentleman. But she hated Mr. Darcy owing to his superficial pride. Gradually, Elizabeth emerged her prejudice to Mr. Darcy and ran to Mr. Wickham. However, Mr. Wickham was a hypocrite. He spoke ill of Mr. Darcy. Therefore, Elizabeth emerged more prejudice to Mr. Darcy. As a result, Elizabeth refused the Mr. Darcy’s proposal rudely. Luckily, Mr. Darcy wrote a letter to Elizabeth and explained why he persuaded Mr. Bingley left Jane and what kind of person Mr. Bingley was. Through Elizabeth’s consideration, she understood why Mr. Darcy had done and knew that Mr. Wickham was a hypocrite. Gradually, Elizabeth reduced her prejudice to Mr. Darcy and fell in love with him.
