Teaching Plan for A Smile 杭州市翠苑中学 杨祎珺 I. Teaching aims: In this lesson, students are expected to: A. review and learn some topic-related vocabulary and fully understand the ideas that the reading material conveys. B. improve their comprehensive abilities of reading , listening and speaking through activities (including vocabulary focus, questions answers, group discussion, opinion presentation and etc.) C. enhance sharing spirit, optimistic spirit and sense of social responsibility. II. Teaching Focus: A. Based on the understanding of the main contents of the reading material and the grasp of the topic-related vocabulary, students will be encouraged to give a full presentation of facts and opinions. B. Knowledge focus: important, gift, smile, as usual, too...to…, suddenly, change one’s life, without a word C. Moral focus: Learn to share and show kindness to the people around us. III. Teaching methods: Task-based activities; pair work and group work VI. Teaching procedure: Step 1 Greetings T: Hello. Boys and girls, nice to meet you! Ss: Nice to meet you, too!
