Abs tract: Transfer relationship among response spectra w ith different damping ratios has found applications in dif
ferent kinds of seism ic design codes of China. U sing the transfer relationship proposed by Ohsaki as themathemati
calmodel and based on 260 bedrock records containing reliable long period information, a new transfer relationship
among response spectraw ith different damping ratios in the naturalperiod range from 0. 04s to 10. 0 s is obtained by
regress analysis. This new transfer relationship not only makes up the long period part from 4. 0 s to 10. 0 s, but al
so takes into account for the first tmi e the influence of distance on the strong shaking duration, and thus it can be
used in the transfer of response spectraw ith continuously
