His life is worth to know, and his literary works are attracting our attention. About Hardy, we need to know that his poems and novels are representing a kind of life, and which has happened in real life. Key words: Stinsford; Poems; Novels. I. Introduction Thomas Hardy is a famous poet,novelist and short story writer of the period of Late Victorian. He is well known for his poetry and novels, his poems Wessex Poems And Other Verses, Poems of the Past And Present;his novels Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Jude the Obscure, and so on. He is an irregular poet, disillusioned novelist who turned to poetry for literary expression. II. Life Experience Hardy was born in Stinsford, Dorchester, Dorset, England in 2 June 1840, and died in Dorchester, Dorset, England in 11 January 1928 (aged 87). After his death, the authorities at Westminster Abbey suggested he be buried in Poets Corner. But his own wish was buried at Stinsford, then his wife decided that his heart should be buried at Stinsford and his ashes be buried in the Abbey. His father Thomas was a stonemason and local builder. His mother Jemima was well-read. She educated Thomas until he went to his first school at Bockhampton at age eight. He received education at local schools until he was 15 years old, and was articled to a local architect at 16. Six years later he went to London to work for a famous architect. In 1874, Hardy got married with Emma Gifford who was a woman of high social status, but died in1912. In
