The resu lts show ed that the Cd content in d iffer- ent kinds o f sew age sludge w as not high, and Cd ex isted m a inly as redu c ible and acid extractable form s in indu stria l sludge, but mo re as residu al form in municipa l sludge. Earthw orm could ab sorb and accum ulate Cd in the sludge, as the tmi e w ent by and the Cd con- tent in the slu dge increased, the Cd enrichm ent in the body of earthw orm enh anced, and the enr ichm ent coeffic ient even reached to 16. Cd w ould be excreted to w orm cast w hen the Cd content in earthw orm reached to a certain degree.
