Ability Objects: 1) Practice students’ listening and speaking. 2) Students can report some tings with the “reported speech”. 3. Moral Object: Love your life. Believe your dream. Teaching key point difficult point: 1. Key Points: “Direct Speech” “Reported Speech” 2. Difficult Points: How to change “direct speech” into “indirect speech”? Teaching aids: Tape recorder, some posters and the task papers. Teaching Procedures: Step1 Warming-up: Introduce myself Hello, everybody, my name‘s Bob. You can call me Mr. Bao. I hope we will have a great time. Now first let me know you. Step 2 Leading-in 1) Ask some individual students questions, and then ask the whole class what he/ she said. I help them to answer and point out “direct speech” “reported speech”. T: How are you? Students’ answer: I am fine/ OK/ well… T: How do you get to school? Students’ answer: I walk to school… The class: He said he was fine/ he got to school by bike… 2) Have students read after me. 3) Have students practice the “direct speech” “reported speech” like this: e.g. A: How do you get to school? B: I walk to school. C: What did he say? D: He said he walked to school. Step 3 Tell us what you can. 1) Ask some individual students what they can do. After he she answers the question, I will have the whole class answer what he/ she said. T: What can you do? S: I can sing/ dance/ swim… T: What did he/ she say?
