Local agricultural resources such as light, temperature, w ater and soilsw ere analyzed. In addition, based upon the theory of sustainable developm ent, discussions tow ard the patterns of agricultural sustainable development in H aiyuan County w ere carried on T he authors opinions included as follow s. : ① decreasing the cropland, synchronously increasing forestry grasses and adequately developing stock raising;② making fully use of rainw ater resource, mi proving the integrated technologies of rainw ater collection, storage, saving and irrigations;③ establishing localecological agriculture;④ developing local precision agriculture.
