No. 2 　　　　　　 　　　　　　 2004 年 5 月 CHINESE SCIENCE TECHNOLO GY TRANSLATORS JOURNAL May. 2004 形合与意合的辩证法及翻译策略 郭富强 (华东师范大学对外汉语学院博士生　上海市　200062) 摘 　要 　本文提出 ,对语言形合和意合的研究要完整深刻而无片面性 ,一方面 ,要重视句子及其以下层面的 ( ) 语言特点 :英语重形合 ,汉语重意合 ;另一方面 ,更要研究英汉语的意合与形合在句子层面以上 篇章 不同 的作用:英语篇章使用词汇手段等意合组织方式 ,而汉语篇章中则采用重复和骈偶形合手段。文章强调要 用辩证方法学习和研究英语和汉语中的形合与意合 ,使其研究更加全面、客观和科学 ,这样有利于改进过去 ( ) ( ) 那种教条的英汉 形合变为意合 和汉英 意合变为形合 翻译的模式 ,从而进一步促进英汉语各方面的研 究。 关键词 　形合 　意合 　语段 　骈偶 　辩证法 Abstract 　This paper argues that the notions of hypotaxis and parataxis should be studied in a complete , thorough and allsided way. On the one hand , our attention should be paid to the characteristics of English and Chinese sentences and structures below the sentence level —English is more hypotactic while Chinese more paratactic. On the other hand , it is very important and necessary to study the different functions of hypotactic and paratactic structures at the level of paragraphs in the two languages. Lexically paratactic structures are often found in Eng lish paragraphs , and hypotactic structures in the form of repetition and parallelism are frequently employed in Chi nese. The author thus recommends that the characteristics of hypotactic and paratactic structures in English and Chinese be researched in a dialectic way , so as to improve the old translation techniques and further contrastive study of the two languages.
