Ltd Shanghai 200940） Abstract ： In recent years, oil and gas pipelines in China develop rapidly, the number of pipeline surge; meanwhile, the pipeline built in70s~80s gradually entered the aging, consequently, pipeline accidents is on the rise. Safety of oil and gas pipeline is a matter of peoples life, property safety, and social harmony, which should not be ignored. Therefore, in this paper , the development and accident status of oil and gas pipelines in the United States, Canada and European Union were introduced respectively, focus on the advanced experience of foreign oil and gas pipeline safety management represented by the United States are analyzed
