Unit6 I like music that I can dance to.
Good morning everyone! Today, it’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. The content of my lesson is Section A (1a-1c) of Unit6. It’s selected from (Go for it) students’ Book in Grade 9.The subject of this unit is: I like music that I can dance to. Now I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from five parts.
Part 1: Teaching material
This class is the first period of Unit6, which is about music and the attributive clauses with who and that. By studying of this unit, we’ll enable the students to express their preferences about music and use attributive clauses. This lesson plays an important part in the English teaching in this unit. It’s necessary and important for students to master this kind of clause throughout Grade 9.
Teaching Objects
Knowledge Objects
Key vocabulary: prefer, lyric
Target languages: What kind of music do you like?
I like music that I can sing along with. What about you?
I prefer music that has great lyrics.
Ability Objects
To train the students to express preferences.
To train the students’ listening and speaking skills.

Let the students enjoy different music and be interested in English.

Part 2
Teaching Methods
In my opinion, the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Communicative” Approach, “Situational language teaching” and “Task-based” language teaching.
