The forming processes of the airframe structure composite parts include application of heat and pressure. Autoclave forming is the most popular used method of applying heat and pressure simultaneously. When judged strictly on the basis of dimensional accuracy and stability in mass production, metallic mold should be the best choice for autoclave forming. Generally, that mold made by cast process is cheaper and easier than others. However, during the cast mold operate in the autoclave, the high temperature and vacuum leakage of cast molds could cause undesirable quality of composite products. This paper proposes painting or coating on the surfaces of cast mold to overcome the high temperature and vacuum leakage of the cast molds, a serial experimental results show that high phosphorous electroless nickel deposition coating has excellent performance in preventing vacuum leakage under conditions of high temperature and vacuum. The practical manufacture results of the cast mold, whose manufacture processes include coated by the high phosphorous electroless nickel deposition, shows that satisfied our criteria.
