摘 要 篇章具有其自身的特征 即篇章性 评估篇章共有七个标准 衔接性 连贯 性 意图性 可接受性 信息性 情景性和跨篇章性 关于衔接和连贯之间的关系至今已有很多研究 就衔接对篇章的连贯性所起 的作用 韩礼德提出的观点曾经引起大量争议 尽管如此 本文仍然认为衔接 尤其是词汇衔接 确实为篇章的构成作出了重要的贡献 针对词汇衔接的两种类 型 再现关系和搭配关系 我们发现前者比后者更易于辨识 因为通过重复 同 义关系或上下义关系 在篇章分析中包括局部-整体关系 再现的词项往往与其 前或其后的相关词项构成衔接纽带 本文中大多数实例选自 大学英语精读 修 订版 一至四册课文 正如这些实例所示 再现的词项具有句内和跨句衔接功能 从而在篇章的语言语境中形成相互关联的衔接链 除此之外 本文还揭示了再现 现象与篇章类型和篇章模式之间的关系 以及类似排比 再现词项所创造的文体 效果 毫无疑问 对英语篇章中再现现象的研究也为我们在英语词汇 阅读和写 作教学方面提供了一些启示 [关键词] 篇章 衔接 连贯 词汇衔接 再现现象 篇章类型 篇章模式 Abstract A text has its own property, that is, textuality, which can be evaluated from seven features: cohesion, coherence, intentionality, acceptability, informativity, situationality and intertextuality. There have been a lot of studies on the relationship between cohesion and coherence so far. Despite much controversy over Halliday’s view of the role cohesion plays in the coherence of a text, this paper acknowledges that cohesion, particularly lexical cohesion, does contribute importantly to a text’s organization. Considering reiteration and collocation, types of lexical cohesion, we find that the former is more accessible than the latter, for the reiterated item can be easily traced to form cohesive ties with its predecessors or successors via repetition, synonymy, or hyponymy (which covers meronymy in text analysis). As concrete examples in this paper, which are selected from texts of College English Intensive Reading (Revised Edition) Book I to BooK IV, have demonstrated, the reiterated items have intra-sentential and inter-sentential cohesive functions to establish cohesive chains within the linguistic context of a text.
