2 学生为中心 You may take a horse to the water, but you can not make it drink. Student-centredWhen we talk about the new national curriculum nowadays, we are not just talking about the English language teaching. We must treat students as persons with potential. We must try to help our students lay a good foundation, so that they can develop fully, physically, intellectually, morally. Our students used to be in a passive position receiving whatever is offered by the teacher, by the textbook in the classroom. We want to change the situation, we want to make our students more active. We really want our students to be beyond the teacher, beyond the textbook and beyond the classroom. Sooner or later the students will step out the classroom. They have to use English in life. That’s why we should let them have some opportunities when they are students. So they should be given more freedom, more space. That’s our work. When they are asked to do task or project they have to spend some time outside class. Let them do brainstorming by doing warming-up before you start, before listening, before reading. This sort of activities will make the students more active.
