Compositions of black liquor
Black liquor consists of various organic components, small
amounts of inorganic dissolved from the wood, some inorganic
compounds (the white liquor) and water.
The composition of the white liquor may vary slightly between
different pulp mills.
The organic compounds consist mainly of sodium salts of
dissolved lignin and dissolved and degraded carbohydrates.
