Their ancestors Hebrews had made an exodus out of Egypt led by the prophet Moses because of Pharaoh’s oppression. Then from the1st Century when the Jews were invaded by the brutal Roman to the historic moment that they founded their own state -Israel, the Jewish nation has experienced almost 1800 years for diaspora. During the 1800 years of wandering around the world, the vagrant Jews with no political status had often become bullied, persecuted, expelled, even killed by the Nazi’s Holocaust. However, the Jewish nation never died out, on the contrary, this small nation with a population of about just 10 million did not only survive but they also become stronger. This article points out the enlightenment we grasp from this small nation’s successful experience. Factors of Making Jewry Strong There is no denying the fact that some reasons and factors exist to support the Jews homeless for almost 1800 years to survive from the suffering, and inherit and develop their civilization. Some people believe that Jews are smart, and some others support that the suffering makes Jewry strong. Indeed, it is possible that these factors also support them. But as far as we considered, the primary factors are their belief, education idea, and national cohesion.
