People say that this building is mysteriously located in a place disconnected from traffic, and that by such a stance, it sticks to its belief in ‘the true, the good, and the beautiful’. In fact, this solitary building is the China Institute of Oil Painting. This is the place where the latest exhibition Heart and Honesty will be held. The president of the institute, Yang Yunfei also participated in this event. This exhibition, launched for the purpose of academic exchange, presents works by artists who have been old friends and students of Yang Yunfei, including his wife, Fan Fan, and best friends Zhu Chunlin and Wang Dianhua, etc. Yang Yunfei presents 3 new paintings in the exhibition, namely Quietness and Meditation, Seventeen Years Old and Shanxi Girl. These paintings are all portraits of female figures with his typical style. His work is attached with his own statement: ‘Motivation of art creation is my touched heart, which is true and reliable’. Yang Yunfei explained about his recent work: ‘They have a common theme about eastern women.
