First, three important tasks of sentiment analysis are summarized and analyzed in detail, including sentiment extraction, sentiment classification, sentiment retrieval and summarization. Then, the evaluation and corpus for sentiment analysis are introduced. Finally, the applications of sentiment analysis are concluded. This paper aims to take a deep insight into the mainstream methods and recent progress in this field, making detailed comparison and analysis.
