Using the fermentation products of organic litter，peat moss, pine bark, coconut chaff and inorganicsubstrate perlite, yellow sand and natural soil and other mediums to make nine kinds of culture substrates, wemeasured the growth indexes (plant height, plant spread, the number of braches, leaf area, chlorophyll) of R. pulchrum which were planted in different kinds of culture substrates, and analyzed the variance. The resultsshowed that: the plants grew in culture substrate A3 and A2 had better plant height, the best plant spread andnumber of branches, the outline of plant was good, the content of chlorophyll was high，the leaf area was big, the tendency of growth was robust, the whole growth index was superior.
