According to the general procedures of geothermal re- source exploration in Beijing and in the view of the risk factors for geological exploration quality, the paper has identified and analyzed 5 risks for geological exploration and 9 risks for drilling ex- ploration through analyzing the work characteristics in geological investigation phase and in geothermal well investigation phase. Practical experiences show that it is possible to decrease or even eliminate the loss caused by the risk from geothermal resource exploration.
