Finally, I would like to express my appreciation to all the writers whose works have been referred to in this thesis. ⅱ 摘 要 称谓差异是中西方文化差异的一个重要表现。本研究通过从亲属称谓、社会称谓两个方面对中西方文化差异作出对比研究，并简要分析形成差异的原因有哪些。通过分析研究，能够加深我们对中西方文化的了解，使我们在交流过程中更好的理解，从而减少跨文化交际中所产生的困惑和误解，使跨文化交际顺利进行。除此之外，这对于我们今后的翻译学习有积极地促进作用。因为只有我们真正了解了中西方称谓差异，更好的进行跨文化交际。 关键词：称谓差异；亲属称谓；社交称谓；文化差异 ⅲ ABSTRACT The difference of appellation is an important way that embodies the differences between Chinese and Western culture. This paper aims to analyze two methods of the translation of address terms in perspective of cultural differences: kinship terms and social appellation. And it aims to analyze the reasons that cause the differences between Chinese and Western addressing forms. All these are aimed to make people understand different cultures well and make us communicate with foreigners better. Beside, it will also have an important role in our learning of translation. Because as long as we master the differences between Chinese and Western culture, we can better know the western literatures, then let the cross-cultural communication run smoothly.
