E - C o m m e r c e E-COMMERC CONSUMER PROTECTION- PROPOSALS FOR IMPROVING THE PROTECTION OF ONLINE CONSUMERS 1 Anne SalaOn This article aims at proposing better solutions for the protection of consumers on the Internet while increasing consumer confidence in E-commerce. Today, consumer protectionremains regulated by traditional rules not specifically devoted to the online world which do not address specific issues raised by the electronic environ- ment. The proposals described in the article are addressed to Web site owners and official authorities who are both concerned to establish a trustworthy and secure online environment.
