Provides space for storing all the datasets that DB 2 uses. Are created by System administrator as shown below. Storage Groups - (Contd..) The number volumes in a storage group can be changed dynamically as shown below. Database Is a collection of one or more Tablespaces and Index spaces. Generally every application will have a unique database. This simplifies administrative tasks and also improves application performance. One DB 2 system can manage up to 65,279 databases.
