西方女性主义与中国女作家批评(P61-75);Chapter Two The Spread of Feminism in Mainland China Time: the last twenty years of 20th century Background: the end of cultural revolution and the beginning of reform and opening-up Characteristics: in this new period, the feminism in China does not combine with Chinas traditional literary criticism theories. It is spread mainly through the translation of theory and books. Four stage:; First stage: Time:in the early 1980s Way of spread: by translating theory about western feminism Representatives: Zhu Hong In the preface of her two books, Selected Reading of Works Written by American Woman Writers and Selected Reading of Short Novels Written by American Woman Writers , Zhu Hong introduced the feminist movement in the 1960s. ;Second stage: Time: 1988 and 1989 Way of spread: translating works of feminists into Chinese,such as The Second Sex, The Feminine Mystique, A Room of Ones Own Representative:Li Xiaojiang Characteristics:In this period, theorists begin to think about the sexual problems in China. In 1988,Li Xiaojiang edited the book series on womens study and the book Emerging From the Surface of History(《浮出历史地表》) written by Meng Yue and Dai Jinhua is the most representative one. They successfully use western feminist criticism to analyze the writing characteristics of Chinese women writers and define these writers in a new way.;Third stage Time:1990-1995 Way of spread: introducing some special articles and speech scripts Representatives: Wang Fengzhen,Lin Jianfa,Zhao Tuo,Zhang Jingyuan In 1991, Wang Fengzhen selected an article written by Showalter, Feminist Criticism in the Wildness(《荒野中的女性主义》) In 1992, Zhang Jingyuan edited Contemporary Feminist Literary Criticism(《当代女性主义文学批评》) and New historicism and literary criticism(《新历史主义和文学批评》) in 1993.; In the preface of Contemporary Feminist Literary Criticism, Zhang Jingyuan discussed how to translate feminism. She preferred 女性主义 instead of 女权主义. She suppose
