IN ONE VEHICLE VERSUS ANOTHER
More than 125,000 occupants of passenger vehicles died in
crashes during 2002-05. Most were drivers. The impacts
varied from single-vehicle rollovers on rural roads to multiple-
vehicle pileups in urban traffic. Something else that varied
was the risk of dying in one vehicle versus another. Some
