E-mail: chengzhijun163@163.com [Abstract] Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of dezocine combined with lornoxicam for Patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) in elderly patients undergoing artificial femoral head replacement. Methods 50 elderly patients for artificial femoral head replacement were randomly assigned to two groups: dezocine combined with lornoxicam treated group (dezocine 15mg+ lornoxicam 16mg,0.9%Nacl to 100ml,D group n=25) , sufentanil treated group ( sufentanil 200μg ,0.9%Nacl to 100ml,,S group n=25). Thirty minutes before the end of operation, The PCIA pump was set up with a bolus of 2ml, patient-controlled analgesia(PCA)0.5ml and lockout interval was 20 min with a background 2ml infusion, and continuously administered for 48h. Visual analogue score (VAS), Ramsay score 、times of PCA and adverse effects at 1,4,8,12,24,48h after the operation were recorded respectively. Results There’s no significant difference in the VAS score 、Ramsay score and times of PCA in both groups（P0.05）. Less nausea and vomiting were observed in D group than S group（P0.05）.Conclusion Administration of dezocine combined with lornoxicam has preferable effect and safety for postoperative analgesia
