ABSTRACTInthemedicalisotopereactor(MIPR)toseparateandpurifythemedicalisotope99Moand131I,thereactiveheatisconstantlygeneratedintheprocessofreaction,associatedwiththeproductionoffissiongas.Inordertocontroltheaveragetemperature(usually≤80℃)ofthereactortopreventthesamplefromvolatilizing,thecoolingsystemofthereactorneedtobedesignedcarefully.Basedontheanalysisoftheprincipaltheoryofnaturalconvectionandtwo-phaseflow,thethree-dimensionalphysicalandmathematicalmodelsonthenaturalconvectionandtwo-phaseconvectiveheattransferinthefluidwithinternalheatsourcewereproposed,whichislocatedonthebackgroundofanalogtestofMIPR.ThenaturalconvectioninthepoolwascalculatedbyusingtheBoussinesqassumption,andtheturbulentflowwascomputedbyemployingtheRNGk-εturbulentmodel.Thephysicalpropertiesofthefluidweretreatedastemperaturedependent.Thebubblemotionwas predictedwiththeEuler-Lagrangediscretemodel,andtheinteractionofgasphasewithcontinuousphasewastakenintoaccount.Intheproject,thenumericalsimulationwasfirstperformedonthenaturalconvectiveheat transfer of thevertical tube heat exchanger inthe inner heated liquid, of whichtheoperationconditionsandboundaryconditionsweredeterminedaccordingtotheanalogprototypeexperiments.Thenumericallycomputedresultsofthetubeheatexchangerwerecomparedwiththecorrespondingdetectedvalues,whichshowedwellconsistencywiththemeasuredvalues.Meanwhilethereasonresultedinthedeviations ofthecomputedresultsandmeasuredoneswasanalyzedinconjunctionwiththetemperatureandvelocitydistribution.Onthebasisofsolutionofthenaturalconvection,thetwophaseconvectiveheattransfertotheverticaltubeintheinnerheatedliquidwassolvednumerically，in whichthebubbleflowrateorthebaretowervelocitywasdeterminedaccordingtotheprototypetest.Thecomputedresultsoftwophaseheattransfercharacteristicsoftheverticaltubeintheinnerheatedliquidwerecomparedmeasuredones.Byemployingthedimension analysisand comparabilityprinciples, thenon-dimensional criterionfunctionrelatedtothetwophaseflowandheattransferwasdeduced,andthecorresponding
