Earthquake Precursors Observation Experimental Park Planning 1,2 1 羅 1 立理 2 麗 參 Parkfield San Andreas 連 料量 蓮 量 1率 錄2 律 數 3 降 料 力力流流 Based on the experiences of the continuous investigation of the San Andreas fault movement in Parkfield, California and the experimental earthquake prediction in western Yunnan, China, and considered the geological feature in Taiwan area, the experimental park of earthquake precursors observation is preliminary proposed in the region between Hualien and Taitung. The reasons are 1) the probability of moderate to large-size earthquake occurred at this area is higher than the other place, so more precursor data can be obtained; 2) in tectonics, this area is the place of the collision boundary between the Philippine Sea and Eurasia plates, and there are several active faults too. So, different earthquake source type will be correlated to the precursor characteristics; 3) good quality in data communications will be expected in this area because of the less noise interference.
