唐诗tang poetry03
The Tang Dynasty was a time of major social and probably linguistic upheavals. Thus, the genre may be divided into several major more-or-less chronological divisions, based on developmental stages or stylistic groupings (sometimes even on personal friendships between poets). The chronology of Tang poetry may be divided into four parts: Early Tang, High Tang, Middle Tang, and Late Tang In High Tang (盛唐), sometimes known as Flourishing Tang or Golden Tang, first appear the poets which would come to mind as Tang poets, at least in the United States and Europe. High Tang poetry had numerous schools of thought: The “Fields and Gardens Poets Group” (田园诗派) include Meng Haoran (孟浩然), the famous poet and painter Wang Wei (王维), Chu Guangxi, (儲光羲), Chang Jian (常建), Zu Yong (祖咏), Pei Di (裴迪), Qiwu Qian (綦毋潜), Qiu Wei (丘为), and others. The Borders and Frontier Fortress Poets Group (simplified Chinese: 边塞诗派) includes Gao Shi (高适), Cen Can (岑参), Wang Changling (王昌龄), Wang Zhihuan, (王之渙) Cui Hao (poet) (崔颢) and Li Qi (李颀). This led to a large record of poetry and poets, a partial record of which survives today. Two of the most famous poets of the period were Du Fu and Li Bai. 人生不相見, It is almost as hard for friends to meet動如參與商。 As for the morning and evening stars.今夕復何夕, Tonight then is a rare event,共此燈燭光。 Joining, in the candlelight,少壯能幾時, Two men who were young not long ago鬢髮各已蒼。 But now are turning grey at the temples.訪舊半為鬼, To find that half our friends are dead驚呼熱中腸。 Shocks us, burns our hearts with grief.焉知二十載, We little guessed it would be twenty years重上君子堂。 Before I could visit you again.昔別君未婚, When I went a
