读故事记2013高考词汇C5 It was a clear day. Class had just let out and all my classmates were leaving the classroom. We all decided to go to the cinema to watch a movie. It was an American movie about Christmas in a small city. I didnt quite understand Christmas. Being Chinese and living in China, I have never seen a real Christmas. In the film, the citizens of the small city went to church and circled a large Christmas tree, singing and clapping. They would drink hot chocolate and wait for a fat man to come down the chimney to deliver gifts. I didnt understand how he always came down the chimney clean. It didnt make any sense. If I had a choice of having Christmas, I would choose to have one. But it would have to be a different class of Christmas; it would have to be a Chinese Christmas. I dont have a chimney in my house, so it would be impossible for the fat man to come and deliver gifts. I dont have any room in my house for a tree to put gifts under, so instead, I would just clean and clear a space in the shape of a circle on the dining table for gifts. My father would get cigars and cigarettes because he likes to smoke and my mother would get flowers. Instead of drinking hot chocolate, we would drink tea.
