Module 1 Getting to know you Unit 3 What are you? The Third Period Language focus: Knowledge objective: Asking ‘wh’ questions to find out various kinds of specific information about a person. Using nouns to identify people. Skill objective: 1. Ask and answer the questions. Moved objective: Educate the students to love people all around them. Materials: Student’s Book 4A page 10 Media Teaching procedures: I. Pre-task preparation: Quick response. Talk about your family. 3. Review the words and sentences they have learned Ask individual pupils to choose one number and guess what he/she is. II. While-task procedure: 1. Ask and answer Ask pupils what their father’s or mother’s job is. Ask more questions like: Does he/she get up early? When does he/she start work? Does he/she wear a uniform ? Does he/she like his/her job? 2. Rewrite the following sentences. What does your father/mother do? Compare these two sentences , then do exercises. 通过两种表达同一意思句型的比较,让生准确掌握其句型结构。 Eg: What is he? What does he do? 3. Listen and read on page 10. 4. Do a survey. What does your mother do? What does your father do? What does your uncle do?... 5. Play a guessing game: T: You have got many pictures . Please put them on the desk. A. Read . B. Act and say. III. Post-task activities: Make and play with the cards. Choose a card and act. What does he/she do? Is he/she a policeman? Is he/she a bus-driver? Yes, he/she is. No. he/she isn’t. What is he/she? Divide students into groups. Have each group choose three jobs and collect pictures of people who do the jobs and pictures of things these people usually use at work. IV. Homework Listen and read on page 10. Play a game with your classmates or friends. Copy the sentences.
