I can/ can’t … Develop students’ ability of communication on the basic target language Important points: 1 . Get students to know new way to tell one’s own ability. 2. Sentence: Can you …? Yes, I can. No, I can’t. I can/ can’t … 3. New words ; can /winner / jump far / see / run fast Difficult points: Make Ss do communication activities by using the target language. Teaching aids: Recorder, tape, hanging picture, self---made cards, survey form Teaching methods: Task-Based approach. TPR Teaching time: 40 minutes. 七、Teaching stages: see the next passage Design of teaching: Teaching Stages Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity Purpose Time Warm-up 1.Greet to students warmly. 2.Get students say the chant and sing a song 3.Get students do what I do Say hello to the teacher. Participate the saying and singing activity. do some actions follow the teacher Arouse students’ interest and create a favorable atmosphere for learning. 5’ Presentation Get students talk about freely about weather sports and other things. Through the answer then lead the new words: far fast run far Ask students some questions and give two questions then play the cassette or CD-ROM. 4.Check and correct their answer. 5.Do some actions and get students guess the words’ meaning: can/ can’t. 6.Get students make sentences using can/can’t. 7.Pick out a piece of paper with some pictures and get students using them make sentences. Answer teacher’s question Learn the new words and phrase: jump far/high run/walk/swim fast .Listen to the tape. Then find out the answer .. Question :(1).Who can run fast? Sam.(2).Who can jump far? Amy. Answer teacher’s questions. Look the teacher’s actions and guess the words’ meaning . Make sentences using can/can’t… M
