Artificial reproduction test of Monopterus albus

Abstract: Rice field eel (Monopterus albu) is one of the economically important fish species in China. It belongs to class pisces, order synbranchiformes, family synbranchidae, and genus monopterus in taxonomy. In recent years, the natural resource of rice field eel is declining constantly because of the excessive environmental pollution and over fishing. On the other hand, the rice field eel possesses special characteristics of sex reversal, low fecundity and spitting froth nest for hatching. So, the artificial reproduction of rice field eel is difference with other fish species. It is quilt difficult to produce seeds in large scale on controlled conditions. The successful artificial breeding is limited by such factors as asynchronization of the male and female gonad development, low fertilizing rate and hatching rate, long hatching period and asynchronous hatching out, etc.
This paper studies on the artificial reproduction of Monopterus albus,. The main research is the different effect of exogenous hormones: and contrast with the natural breeding, observe the effect of artificial breeding.

引言
有实验结果表明，雌黄鳝的卵粒直径、卵巢重量和成熟系数为6-7月达到最大值，这是黄鳝卵巢发育的最佳时期；而精巢系数的变化不大，在0．16—0．44之间，同样为6—7月达到最大值。因此黄鳝的人工繁殖时间选在6、7两个月份进行。
