Julius Caesar (100BC - 44BC) was a politician and general of the late Roman republic, who greatly extended the Roman empire before seizing power and making himself dictator of Rome, paving the way for the imperial system. The First Triumvirate consists of Julius Caesar, Cassius, and Pompey Marcus Brutus was a Roman senator of the late Roman Republic. He is best known in modern times for taking a leading role in the assassination conspiracy against Julius Caesar Antony was a daring general in the army of Julius Caesar who rose to become one of Caesars closest colleagues. After Caesars assassination, Antony formed an official political alliance with Octavian (Augustus) and Lepidus, known to historians today as the Second Triumvirate. Julius Caesar is a highly ambitious political leader in Rome and his aim is to become dictator. Caesar is warned that he must beware the Ides of March .
