AbstractWiththerapiddevelopmentoftheconstructionmarketandtheglobalization,EPCcontractmodehasbecomeoneofthemostpopularcontractingmodesintheworld,butalsoisveryimportantstrengthtopromoteChina’sconstructionenterprisestowards internationalization.Inrecentyears,ourconstructionenterpriseshavedonealotof beneficialexplorationandpracticeinEPCcontractmode,butthereisstillalargegapon projectmanagementlevelcomparingwiththeinternationalenterprises.ThereisnodoubtthatChinas construction enterpriseshavetoimprovetheirown projectmanagementability toadaptthedevelopmentofconstructionmarketbothinternationalanddomestic.DesignisveryimportantinprojectmanagementofEPCcontractmodeandhastheleadingposition;itiscloselyrelatedtoquality,scheduleandcostofthewholeproject. GooddesignmanagementcanreducetheriskofEPC Project,savetheprojectcost,shorten theconstructionperiod;conversely,poordesignmanagementmaycausecontractorlosses. SothekeytoimprovethecompetitivenessoftheEPCcontractorsininternationalmarketis toupgradetheirabilityofdesignmanagement.Foralongtime,thedomesticresearch mainlyfocusonthecomparativeadvantageofEPCcontractmodeandhowtomakethecompanyhaveEPCcontractingcapacitythroughtheorganizationrestructuringoftheenterprises,ratherthenhowtogivefullplayoftheadvantagesoftheEPCcontractingto reachthe goalofsavingcost,shorteningtheconstructionperiodandimprovingbenefits.Basedontheconstructabilityanalysistheory,thevalueengineeringtheoryandtheconcurrentengineeringtheory,thisthesisanalyzedthemainproblemsofEPCprojectdesignmanagementexistinginourcountrythroughanalysisoftheEPCprojectdesign processandthe comparisonanalysisofthedesignmanagementbetweentheEPCmodeandthetraditionalmode;proposedtheideaofestablishingIntegratedConstructability AnalysisTeam(ICAT)tooptimizethedesignmanagementorganizationstructureand analyzedtheformationprinciplesandbasicworkflowofICAT;gaverecommendationson thestrategiesoftheEPCprojectdesignmanagementfromthebiddingstage,theprojectimplementationstageandcompletionacceptancestagerespectively.Keyw
