AbstractWiththerapiddevelopmentofInternettechnology,webforumisbecomingmoreandmorepowerfulandperfect.Almosteverywebportalhavebuilttheirownwebforum.Wecanseefromthesub-boarddivisionoftheseforumthatwebforumismeantofeedallkindsofpeoplesneed.Everymomenttherearepeoplemakingcommentsanddiscussingissuesonthatplatform.Webforumisbecominganhugeinformationbase.Manyapplications(suchasthepublicopinionanalysisandmonitoring,forumsearchengine,andonlinecommunitydiscovery,etc.)areusingforumdataastheirinformationsource.Therefore,Thestudyonforuminformationextractiontechnologyisveryurgentlyneededfortheseapplications.Thispaperfocusesontheforumdataextractiontechnology.Aftermakingtheeffortonanalysisandstatistics,wefoundtheuniquestructureoftheforumpagesandtheirvisualinformation.Wedefinesomeheuristicrulesbaseonthesefeatures.Sinceeachdifferentforumswillhavetheirownsetoftemplatestoorganizetheirdata,informationextractionwillconfrontaunifieddatasource.Tosolvetheseproblems,thispaperproposedanpagesegmentationbasedonvisualclueofsub-treesalgorithm(denotedasBPS-VCS).ThisalgorithmscanstheDOMtreenodeslevelbyleveltofilterandmerge,andeventuallyextractsthemainmoduleofforumpage.Manyspammodulesarebeingfilteredsothattheinformationextractioninnextstepcanonlyneedstobetakentothemainmodule.Theexperimentsshowthatthisalgorithmhashighaccuracy.Basedonthepagesegmentation,thispagerproposedaninformationextractionbasedondecisiontreeclassificationalgorithm.Thisalgorithmtreatstheinfromationextractionproblemasaclassificationproblem.Itperformstheinformationextractionthroughthepagere-segementation,featureextraction,preprocessingandclassificationprocesses.Intheclassificationprocess,itwouldrequireatrainingprocess,thatisthemanualannotation.Thispageimplementsasimplevisualannotationtools.Sothisisasemi-supervisedclassificationalogritm.Afterexperimentsandanalysis,thisalgorithmcanextracttheinformationaccuratelysuchasauthor,maincontentanddate.Byhavingthegoodfoundationoftheoreticalstudies,thispaperdesignsandimplementsaforuminformationext
