Fast development of the new nation Industrialism Immigration Westward expansion a. A new nationalism emerged as a result of this sudden influx of immigration. b. The spread of industrialization filled people with optimism. c. The discovery of gold in California in 1848 brought about a Gold Rush, which further pushed the frontier to the end. d. the woman’s issue e. slavery optimism and hope among people 2. Development of jounalism Themes: Imitative Independent home, family, nature, children and idealized love, etc. major problems of American life, like the westward expansion and democracy and equality, etc. Characteristics of Am.
