A Thank you for giving us this opportunity to make this presentation of our ideas for the new city Arts Centre. We believe we have an exciting idea which makes good use of the planned site. As the site is a large, slightly raised one with a view of the sea and there are not many tall buildings in the area, we propose making more use of the horizontal than the vertical and keeping a sense of openness. We propose a square lake with a circular flower garden in the middle. At each corner of the lake there will stand a building in the shape of a six-storey cube. The buildings will be joined by light and elegant walkways at the fourth floor level. Example answers One cube will be a large theatre rising to the third floor with a studio theatre for smaller productions above it and various storage spaces. This cube will be entirely covered in pink marble with no windows. The next cube will be entirely of glass. It will be an open space exhibition centre. Walkways and stairs in a transparent material will lead one around the building with everything visible at all times and large platforms suspended from the ceiling for the displays.
