Minutes of the 3rd National Scouting Ireland Venture Scout Forum. Present: Members of the NVFC: Jamie Gorman-chairperson Grace Lawlor-secretary Darryl O’Connell Stephen Cull Susan McDaid Delegates and observes from Dublinia, Mountpelier, Three Rock, Atha Cliath 15, Down and Connor, Cork South, North Cork, Galway, Lough Keel and Sligo. 11.00 Opening address by Jamie Gorman, chairperson of the N.V.F.C., followed by address of the Chief Scout. Discussion of Motions and Voting: F1) Motion that Scouters not be present at this year’s Venture Forum was carried. F2) Debate took place on acceptance of Standing Orders against articles: 2.5-that full uniform be worn to Forum, 3.2-delegates from groups not in good financial standing cannot attend the Forum, and 4.1-motions only accepted until day before the Forum; which led to the amendment: “2.5 No Venture Scout will be allowed enter the hall without the full appropriate uniform of the Association” The amendment to article 2.5 was agreed upon and with no other change, the motion was carried. CA1) This motion proposed by the NVFC (of which notice was given at National Council 2006) was again carried to be proposed at National Council 2007. RA1) This rule amendment proposed by the NVFC to list members of the NVFC and the NSFC as included in “Rule 22: Other Positions in Scouting Ireland…” was carried. RA2) This rule amendment proposed by the NVFC to include a Provincial Scout Representative and Venture Scout Representative on the Provincial Management Support Team was carried. RA3) This motion was proposed originally by the NVFC but withdrawn before commencement of the Forum. RA4) The motion proposed by the NVFC to insert Rule 162 (stating that the National Youth Fora elect committees to act on their behalf between sittings of the Fora) was carried. RA5) The rule amendment as it was proposed by the NVFC caused much discussion and debate from the floor and from within the NVFC members. An amendmen
