In 1952, Guangxi Miao Autonomous Region was founded that was the first Miao Autonomous County in China.In 1955,it was renamed as Rongshui Miao Autonomous County.. With the population of nearly 50million,there are Miao 、Yao 、Tong 、Zhuang、Han and other ethnic minorities inhabited here. About 39.12% of the total population is Miao people. With a majority of Miao,RongShui is also known as Great Miao Mountains. Covering an areas of 4663square kilometres, RongShui is located in the northern GuangXi which is 130 kilometers away from GuiLin Province . Rongshui enjoys high reputations of ‘The Kingkom of China Fir’ and ‘The Town of Mao Bamboo’. 位于广西北部的融水，距桂林130公里，全县面积4663平方公里，素有“杉木王国”、“毛竹之乡”的美誉，2009年全县财政收入2.18亿元，同比18.3%。 In 2009, fiscal revenue of the whole county mounted 218 million yuan, attaining a year-on-year rises of 18.3 per cent. The scenery in Rongshui is a born beauty. Sung tai tsung (the Song emperor )bestowed 120 pieces of the Imperial book steles in his own hand, stored it in the Laojun Cave and named it Zhenjun Rock. There are many tourist resorts in this city, such as national forest park Yuanbao Mountain, provincial scenic spot Beijiang River, etc. 融水，山水天生丽质，宋太宗皇帝亲笔颁赐《御书碑》120轴藏于此地老君洞并敕封为“真仙岩”。县内现有国家森林公园元宝山，省级风景区贝江等旅游胜地。 人杰地灵，历史悠久的大苗山至今延续着深厚的传统文化。踩脚求爱、打同年、偷婚、走姑娘等源远流长的民俗，是苗族同胞传承千年的文化奇观；包含着苗族历史、文化和习俗积淀的苗族坡会，则是大苗山各族同胞的精神坐标和人文盛
