The?rise?of?inequality?in?China?has been?growing stressed in literature?.The literature makes an emphasis on?the major?role?of?the?regional differences?.However, until recently,?a key variable?in?these evaluations?has been ignored:?the consumer price?differences in?various regions and?provinces.?The evidence of regional?market segmentation proves that the?price difference and gap nominal?income of the provinces?has?a?very strong?correlation; therefore,?inequality?reach may have be?strong?and?systematic bias.
